Founded in 2019, Coastal Mapping & Sciences, LLC (CMS) is an environmental consulting firm based in southeast Louisiana, specializing in coastal sciences, GIS and geospatial mapping, hydrographic surveying, and marine services. CMS supports federal and state agencies, academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and private clients with high-quality data collection, advanced mapping, and science-driven analysis across a wide range of coastal and aquatic environments.

CMS is recognized for its strong field capabilities and ability to execute projects in complex and dynamic environments. The firm integrates hydroacoustic technologies, geospatial analysis, and in-situ monitoring systems to generate reliable, high-resolution datasets that support informed decision-making. Core services include hydrographic surveying, long-term environmental monitoring, discrete environmental data collection, and real-time water quality monitoring.

CMS maintains a diverse fleet of vessels designed to support field operations across freshwater, estuarine, coastal, and marine environments including offshore survey platforms to shallow-draft and ultra-portable systems. All vessel operations are conducted by U.S. Coast Guard-certified captains with extensive experience navigating complex waterways, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable project execution.

With experience spanning the Gulf Coast, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions, as well as projects in four international countries, CMS brings a broad geographic perspective to each effort. The firm provides efficient, end-to-end solutions, from project design through field deployment and data delivery, backed by experienced personnel, specialized equipment, and proven workflows. CMS remains focused on delivering dependable, science-based results that support environmental management, restoration, and long-term resilience of coastal and aquatic systems.
